Can you describe parts of your life in five words or less?

I saw this idea on a blog from last year and have been wondering if I could actually do this justice. Well, here's my try at it.

In Five Words Or Less....

My day job - Crazy. I was crazy once.

My pets - Didn't you just go out?

My writing career - Why won't they publish me?

My thoughts on college - I made more before attending.

My body - Curves with intermittent weight fluctuations.

My mind - Wait, I have one? Dude!

My marriage - He loves me with flaws.

My sewing hobby - Where is my seam ripper?

My former dancing life - Evolved from tap to naughty

My car - She needs how much work?

My train of thought - Wait, I have one? Righteous!

Favorite color - Dark green is soul deep.

Favorite movie - The Wedding Date, my Yoda. (You'd get this is you've watched it)

My best friends - They know the real me.

My ex-boyfriends - Exes for very good reasons.

My hair - my best feature, mouth included

My skin - Was Morticia Adams my mom?

My villain crush - Can I keep you, Loki?

My point - Wait, I have one? Seriously?

Sexy enough?

As I search for blog topics, I started looking into how I feel about the books that I enjoy reading. I read paranormal but I also like historicals, regency, romantic suspense, urban fantasy, and a few young adults. This being said, I also have a certain heat level that works for me. Yes, I've read sweet romances (I've even published two) to erotic romance and on a scale from 1 to 5, I'm great with a sultry 3, give or take :-)

If the sweet romance is high on sexual tension, then I can be just as satisfied (hehe) as with a sex scene that ends in bed posts being broken. My sweet romances have deep kisses and a spot of making out but nothing further on the sheet clinching level. My steamier book, Andromeda, has a higher heat
rating as the couple actually have sex, but not in a graphic way.

I have friends who write BDSM and menage, which is fine but can actually make my ears blush. I'm not sure if it's the cough cough "attention to detail" or the word choices but I just can't act cool while I read it. Can I blame it on my upbringing? Please?

Scenes from the film "The Thomas Crown Affair" starring Pierce Brosnan & Rene Russo.August 18, 1999.Well, I'm a girl who likes things just spicy enough to have my lips tingling for more. If it's a sneak of a touch on the back of a trembling neck or the hottest kiss that could incinerate the pages, just give it to me. I see it that there are different types of romance so there should be levels of what you are comfortable with, and I don't mean just what your mother sees on your bedroom shelves.

My mom always read Harlequin Intrigue and would then pass them onto me, after remarking that I wasn't old enough to be reading any of the sex scenes.
It started something as my rebellious side wanted to dig right into it but my shyness took over once the page turned. Until recently, I couldn't even watch a movie love scene (like after the dance scene inThomas Crown Affair or after the fight scene in Mr and Mrs Smith) without wanting to hide my face from the others in the room. If you know me then you don't see how that could be, but it's a fact.
In my head, romance can be just as sexual as actually grabbing me up for a twisting dance of tongues. Subtle moves can seduce me more than a whisper in my blushing ear. I know that I'm not alone in this as I have friends who will be just as "moved" over a couple touching bare skin in a regency romance as they are over discussing the newest erotic romance series.
And don't forget that many of us authors are judged upon by not only our genre but by the heat level that we're involved in. It's sad but true. I'm not as self conscious about this as I used to be when family would see me with a Harlequin stuffed in my book bag. Back then, I would hide it but now I'm proud to write what I do. (I hope that my readers are happy with it too.)
This leads me to ask you, what is your heat level of choice and why? I'd love to hear what you guys are interested in.

Pros and Cons of being Me - body issues

Pros and Cons of being me

I've decided to do a list of these things as I take the year to feel better about being an individual. This one is about my self image.

I'm 42 years old and need to be happier in the body that I possess. If I had my way, I'd be built more like Kate Upton or Fergie, but I'm not. They have the money and lifestyles to have personal trainers, dieticians, and life counselors. Not me.

So, this blog is about the comments I have received about my body issues. Guys, I used to be anorexic and even though I am back to loving food, I still feel as if I'm too big. I didn't become anorexic because I thought that I was fat. That may surprise you but it's true. I have a nervous stomach and hate conflicts/stressful situations. I get physically sick if I'm plagued with too much negativity and this makes my sleep and hunger wane away.

 (me at 17)

At 18, I was wearing size 12 little girls jeans. I still have them, in my hope chest. Now, I'm 150 lbs at 5'5 and that's twice what I weighed at 18. Back then I was so upset about my life that eating a piece of bread with a glass of water filled me up for the day. Looking at food made me nauseous. I had to wake up from that and "fix" myself, as no one else could do it for me.

(me at 19)

I was 134 lbs at 26 when I was pregnant (pic below) and I'd like to be that size again, even if my mind is screaming for 12 lbs less than that. I have to be realistic. I'm curvy, like eating, have little time for exercise while I work and attend college. Looking in the mirror hurts but the last six months I've been taking selfies so I can prove to myself that I am nowhere as big as my mind tells me that I am. I do have some very fit friends who still encourage me to focus more on diet and fitness. I love them but if I were to push too hard then I could see myself as becoming obsessed with being a size 3/5. That scares the crap out of my husband as he was with me when I was anorexic.

 ( me 3 wks pregnant)

Well, with new years resolutions in the air and people being more focused on their own self image, I have to look at mine with better eyes. Yes, I need to stress less and work out more. I'm already on track with this and I pray to stay on track. But this is my body. This is what is getting me through the next 50+ years, if I'm lucky. I need to love it, in any way that I can.

Last month I was reminded by some people that they don't see the same thing that I do. I get this as no one is more critical of their own body than themselves, unless you're a modeling agency and that is a whole other story to tell. I need to start looking in the mirror, at all of my flaws, and say Hi to them. acknowledge they are there but that they don't add up to the sum of my parts. Yes, I have cellulite, stretch marks, scars, bulges, and wrinkles. I can hide them with makeup or clothes, even take better care of myself but they're still mine. I can't take them off and trade them in for something that I like better.

I will try to smile at the trim people who think I'm too large, and the overweight people that think I need to shut up. No one needs to love me better than I do. Right? I mean, I want love, but I need to work on myself and what I'm made of. It's hard after also being told that I was "damaged", "unwanted", and "ugly" for more than half of my life. But, I have enough time to fix this, as I'm not planning on going anywhere for a very long time.
